Grain SA personnel and executive members represent producers at various industry forums affecting the sunflower industry, including the Sunflower and Soybean Forum; Sunflower value chain-, Soybean value chain meetings and the JSE Advisory committee. GSA also represents grain producers at the Agriculture- and Agro-processing Master Plan (AAMP) committee.

Actively seeking to negotiate a win-win situation for sunflower producers with regards to the recent lower oil content of South African sunflower seed crop. Producers are presented a premium for high oil rather than a discount for low oil.

With significant effort, Grain SA encourages producers to focus on sunflower as a cash crop, which includes research projects by OPOT and planting date trials.
