Nixtamalization training

The Nixtamalization training is where we teach community members how to use dry maize to bake e.g. scones, banana bread, pizza etc as well as make their own yoghurt. This inspires many to start their own small businesses in their community and helps them use surplus maize without any wastage.

Schools programme

Facilitators go to schools (visiting Gr 4-7 learners) where they play DVDs to introduce the learners to farming, making them aware of where food, clothes etc comes from, they are also introduced to how economics and farming link together. They are shown which careers are linked to farming or Agriculture. We at PGP feels the earlier you introduce children to Agriculture the more you stimulate their interest and to help them make more informed choices when choosing subjects in the future.

Beyond abundance

Our Beyond abundance project is where we help our subsistence and small holder farmers to access inputs at a better price as we buy bulk – each farmer must pay for their inputs, and we get a small portion subsidized. These farmers plant from 0,25ha up to 10ha’s. But it is open to all developing farmers if they can pay their inputs per ha
